Senior Fireman Michael Shearing dampens down the smouldering ruins of a Harewood timber factory destroyed by fire early yesterday morning. The Fire Service received a call about 3 a.m. that the factory, owned by Peter Stevens, Ltd, in Broughs Road, was on fire.

Four engines and a hoselayer went to the scene, but could not save the 2400 sq m factory. The last engine left the site yesterday afternoon, almost 12 hours after being called.
