Visa ban on South Africans reaffirmed
NZPA New York The Prime Minister, Mr Lange, has assured the international community that the ban on issuing visas to South African sports teams extends to individual South African sportsmen and sportswomen. This came at a meeting yesterday with Major-Gen-eral Joseph Garba, of Nigeria, chairman of the United Nations Special
Committee against Apartheid. Mr Lange said that he had told Major-General Garba that the Government would do all in its power to persuade the AU Blacks and the New Zealand Rugby Union not to go ahead with the proposal for a tour of South Africa next year.
