Skyhawk aircraft parts arrive

PA Nelson Eleven crates containing $2l million of Skyhawk aircraft parts “landed” at Port Nelson yesterday. They were part of a $68.6 million order of 10 Skyhawks from the Royal Australian Navy, said Wing Commander Geoff Clarke, at the Royal New Zealand Air Force, from Wellington

yesterday. They were transferred from the Union Sydney to low-loader trucks to be transported to Woodbourne air base, near Blenheim. The spares are for aircraft flown across the Tasman to Ohakea air base in July. They will be stored at Woodbourne and Te Rapa, near Hamilton.
