Buses to stop
Christchurch buses will be off the streets for up to four hours on the morning of October 9 while drivers attend their union’s annual meeting. Members of the Tramway Workers’ Union will meet from 10.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. but it is expected to take an hour each side for bus services to wind down and up. Special buses, such as school buses, will not be affected by the meeting. They will be driven voluntarily by union members.
