The radio control tower on Cave Rock at Sumner, which has been stripped of its kauri and rimu roof to make way for a new roof. The old roof, which dated back to 1900, was etched with graffiti and was falling apart. The new construction of pine wood will be a copy of the original, with windows added. It is expected to be finished early next month.
