Bilateral fisheries agreements with the three major fishing nations with, access to New Zealand waters — South Korea, Japan and the Soviet Union — were signed in Wellington yesterday. There was an exchange of letters between the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr O’Flynn, and the ambassadors from the three countries.
This exchange of letters constitutes the extensions of the bilateral agreements already in place. Mr O’Flynn said that the fisheries agreement were due to expire on September 30 and would now remain in force until September 30, 1986.
