Festival for schools
About 5000 children will take part in the 1984 Christchurch Schools’ Music Festival next week. The festival will run for seven nights in the Christchurch Town Hall from September 19 to 21 and October 1 to 4. About 600 children will sing in massed choirs on each night of the festival, under the direction of Mr Lennox Willet Children from 107 Christchurch schools will be participating as well as special groups. These include a brass ensemble, a percussion group, recorder ensemble, wind ensemble and senior and junior chop*s.
