Sex change a school problem
NZPA-AP Islamabad A Pakistani youth has been, refused to schools in Pakistan because of surgery which changed his sex from female to male, Pakistani newspapers have reported. Because there is no coeducation beyond fifth grade in most Pakistani schools, Sajjad Haider Siddiq, aged 16, must go to a boys’ school. change his sex, but until the end of his tenth grade year, he was a girl with the name of Shahnaz Siddiq. The youth, a resident of Faisalabad, 400 km southeast of Islamabad, asked the Government’s department for school examinations to change his name and sex on his tenth-grade school certificate, but it refused. “We have no such precedent,” the youth was told, according to the reports.
