Canterbury-Bankstown beat Parramatta, 16-8, in the Sydney rugby league championship major semifinal at the Sydney Cricket Ground yesterday to earn a direct passage through to the grand final on September 23.
On Saturday St George eliminated South Sydney, 24- : 6, in the minor semi-final. St George will now advance to the preliminary final next Sunday, opposing Parramatta for the right to meet Canterbury in the grand final.
