Appeal lodged over fine
The Oxford trainer, John Burrows, has given notice of appeal against a fine of $75 imposed on him for careless driving at Addington Raceway on Saturday.
Burrows, the driver of Rosin in the Christchurch Suppliers’ pace, was found guilty of causing interference to Premiership after about 106 m.
Gold and Black was declared ineligible to start in any stake-bearing race until after October 6. She broke and caused interference to a number of runners with about 100 m to run in the Christchurch Ready Mix Concrete Pace.
Solar Queen was relegated from second to third in the Max Bowden Standardbreds Pace for causing a momentary check to Spry Joker inside the final 100 m. No action was taken against Tom Behrns, the driver of Solar Queen, as it was considered he had taken immediate corrective action.
Spry Joker was promoted to second.
Sigma was declared ineligible to start in any stake-bearing race until after October 6. It was found he had broken free of interference in the Patron Score pace.
