Snell, aerobics and trampoline jumps
Peter Snell, a triple gold Olympic and double gold Commonwealth Games medallist, will be Danny’s guest on “World of Sport” on One at 5.30 p.m. today.
Snell now lives in Texas and, in a move away from the public relations role in which he had found himself, he has returned to studies. He has completed a degree in the physiology of exercise, with particular emphasis on health and heart disease.
In the programme, he talks to Danny about his early years in New Zealand, his involvement in a great number of sports and his feelings before and after,his
gold medal Olympic performances. In the “Skill Factor” segment of the programme, a trampoline exponent, Anne Isaac, the basic rules and several jumps are
demonstrated. The profile item focuses on 15-year-old Kirsten Daly, of Napier. At the age of 14 she,played in the New Zealand under 20 basketball, side and she is considered to
be one of the most promising basketball players in the ‘ 4 country. 3 The programme will also " introduce the first in a series of seven aerobic '■ exercise segments. '•
