New Zealand Steel, Ltd, is an expanding company in the rural environment of South Auckland near Waiuku. We are part-way through a two stage expansion of our steel making capacity which will lead us to being a fully integrated steel works. Stage 2 of this expansion Involves the installation of hot and cold strip mills. The hot strip mill will be controlled by a sophisticated process computer. We are looking for people to maintain and tune the software for these processes. Applicants would be expected to have tertiary qualifications most likely in an electrical engineering degree. Some experience with process control systems is desirable especially for the senior positon. An extensive training period possibly including some overseas training will be given. The positions are essentially day work, but some shifts are likely to be required during commissioning and early operation.
