Death of composer

NZPA-AP New York Arthur Schwartz, composer of “Dancing In The Dark,” “That’s Entertainment” and other songs for Broadway and films, died yesterday after a long illness, according to the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (A.S.C.A.P.). He was 83.

In 1931, Schwartz and Howard Dietz wrote the music and lyrics for “The Band Wagon,” a major success that was twice adapted to the screen. Among the songs were “Dancing In The Dark” and “I Love Louisa.”
