Special correspondent Hastings A fast 800 m by Burletta and sound trials from Exocet, Amberman and Toltec highlighted yesterday morning’s Hastings track session. All tracks were open and the ground was firm. Burletta was hitting out keenly throughout 800 m on the plough in 49.35, the last 600 m in 36.35. She continues

to please as she prepares for next week’s Feilding meeting.

Exocet ran 1200 m on the No. 1 grass in Imin 19.75, the last 800 m in 51.4 s and the final 600 m in 38.35. He is also being aimed at the Feilding meeting, as a possible lead-up to the Hawke’s Bay spring meeting.

Amberman and Toltec rounded off their preparation for Wanganui tomorrow by sprinting a fast 600 m together on the plough in 36.95. Maurice Campbell has been booked to ride both.

Reutemann was kept under a hold throughout a solo 800 m on the plough in 52.15, the last 600 m in 38.25. Heftis another which continues to please in training.

Our Buddy and Henton Sky were not hurried when running 600 m on the plough in 39.45. Gilligan was working well at the end of a solo 800 m on the plough in 49.65, the last 600 m in 37.25, while Stylish Ran 600 m in 38.95. She could race next at the Feilding meeting.
