Need for insurance
PA Wellington Social Welfare changes, such as accident compensation, have not taken away the need for private insurance, the Mayor of Wellington, Mr lan Lawrence, says. Mr Lawrence, opening the 1984 convention of the Life Underwriters’ Association, said the State could not provide the protection most people wanted for their families.
Life assurance offices were also a big source of investment in city, rural and 1 industrial developments, he said.
