AORANGI UNITED COUNCIL TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1977 NOTICE OF INTENTION TO PREPARE REGIONAL SCHEME PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given pursuant to Section 11 (5) of the Town and Country Planning Act 1977 that the Aorangi United Council resolved at its meeting on August 8, 1984 to prepare a Regional Planning Scheme covering the region. The Scheme which will cover soscial economic and environmental matters will be prepared in sections, the first one to b known as “SECTION 1 - OBJECTIVES” will consist of a statement of objectives and policies for the future planning and development of the region and the means by which these objectives will be implemented. A proposed list of contents is as follows: Part I Background 1 Description of Aorangi REgion.' 2 The Aorangi United Council Goals. 3 Relationships with Other Oragnisations and Government. 4 Purpose of Regional Scheme and Definitions. 5 Key Regional Planning and Development Objectives. Part II Major Topics 6 Water and Soil Resources and Development. 7 Tourism and Recreation. 8 Industrial and Commercial Development. 9 Community and Settlement Patterns. 10 Energy and Energy Distribution. 11 Forestry and Forest Industry. 12 Utility Services and Community Facilities. 13 Transporation by all Modes. 14 Other Regional Objectives. Part 111 United Council Involvement. 15 Immediate and Long Term Functions of United Council. 16 Liaison and Staffing. 17 Means of Implementation of Regional Planning Scheme including the involvement of Constituent Councils, Local Authorities, Government Departments, other public organisations and assistance for private sector decisions. Any person or body who, or which, wishes to make submissions on these matters or suggestions as to what should be included in the Regional Scheme should do so in writing to the underesigned. Such submissions need not be in great detail in the first instance as the Aorangi United Council is seeking initially to establish the full range of matters appropriate to Its Scheme.
