Site tailored to new era
Designing and equipping the new premises of D. N. Adams at 51 Sandyford Street, Sydenham, has taken 18 months, with every effort being made to ensure that the building is tailored to the needs of a modern-day printing company. Whereas a central city location may have been ideal 25 years ago, the present site in Tattersails Lane has become outmoded. The new premises are still close to the city, being situated just off Colombo Street near the overhead bridge in Sydenham, but the location gives it much
easier access to rail and supplies of newsprint. A separate web room has been built, while the sensitive camera room is situated on the first floor, away from the noise and disruption of the printing presses. Two large roller doors located at each end of the building allows access from two streets with the unprocessed material coming in one end and the finished product leaving the other. Easy customer access has also been catered for at thenew premises with ample parking space at the front of the building.
