Diana mourns uncle
NZPA-Reuter London Princess Diana, the future Queen, was yesterday mourning . her favourite uncle, Lord Fermoy, who committed suicide yesterday. Lord Fermoy, who was aged 45, walked into the stables of his country house and shot himself through the head after what his family said had been years of de-
pression. Princess Diana, wife of the heir to the throne Prince Charles, was described by a Buckingham Palace spokesman as “greatly shocked and saddened” by the hews. She is expecting her second child next month. The Queen Mother, who has counted Lord Fermoy’s mother as one of her closest companions for more than
30 years, was also said to be distressed over his death. Lord Fermoy killed himself at his home, Eddington House, in Hungerford outside London, a police statement said. A shotgun was found by his side. The Prince and Princess of Wales had often visited Eddington House during their courtship. Princess Diana took riding lessons there.
