NZPA-Reuter Jeddah The number of work permits granted to expatriate workers in Saudi Arabia dropped 10 per cent in 1983, says the English language daily newspaper, the “Saudi Gazette.” Figures given by the Saudi Labour Office in Jeddah showed that 47.9 per cent of the 669,448 work permits granted to nonSaudi workers in 1983 went to Asians and 41.6 per cent to Arab labourers, mainly from Egypt and North Yemen.
