Borg sports a new woman

NZPA-AAP London The Swedish former tennis star, Bjorn Borg, has left his wife of four years for a young woman, aged 17, who left school two months ago, the "Dally Star” reports. The paper said Borg, aged < 28, was holidaying in Hawaii .with Jannicke Bjorling after they met last month when he returned to Sweden from his Monte Carlo home to sell his private island. A friend of Borg’s was qnoted as saying it was not a case of a youngster setting her sights on the super-

star. “Bjorn is the one making all the running. He is totally besotted with Jannicke,” the friend said. Borg quit top-level tennis in 1981 after John McEnroe ended his five-year unbeaten ran at Wimbledon. The sale of the island was seen as the first step towards divorce with his Rumanian wife, Mariana, who has been seen with a number of escorts in Monte Carlo recently amid several reports that the marriage was over.
