Trusty old Daimler

, After spending 10 years as an exhibit on the deck of the Cunard liner Queen Mary, which is the show piece at Long Beach, California, and five years in storage, the 1935 model Daimler that once belonged to Queen Mary has returned to the United Kingdom. The limousine has been acquired by Coventry’s

Museum of British Transport. Initially, it was believed the Daimler’s engine was seized, but after a little attention it started and, once it had wanned up, ticked over quite smoothly which, in itself, was eloquent testimony to the quality of British pre-World War Two automotive engineering. The car had not run for 15 years.
