Live at Zanzibar

Live music, videos, reggae, and a record premiere are among the attractions the Christchurch dance club, Zanzibar, has lined up as part of its first anniversary celebrations.
Tomorrow night sees the start of a regular Friday night live band slot, featuring a different act each week. The first band to play are the Haemogoblins, to be followed by the Bats, the White Boys, and Lions and Tigers.
A birthday party will be held this Saturday night, with the usual discerning mix of imported and locally released dance music, and a weekly reggae night will be introduced the following Wednesday, including live music from the group, Horizon.
Thursday night has been set aside for big screen videos, and on Saturday, August 25, Festival Records join with the Zang Tung Tuum label for the premiere of the new Frankie Goes To Hollywood video single, “Two Tribes,” which has been No. 1 in Britain for the last five weeks.
