Heads begin to crane
Construction continues on the new Bank of New Zealand building in Armagh Street, as seen from New Regent Street. The building, of 11 storeys, will also have a frontage on Oxford Terrace. The site is owned by the B.N2.’s Provident Association which is financing the project. Part of the tower block will be leased to the bank, the rest will be let as retail and office space. The building was designed by Powell Fenwick, consulting engineers, with
the architects, Trengrove and Blunt, and quantity surveyors, F. W. Shipston, Davies and Partners. The construction contractor is Chas S. Luney, Ltd.
