A variety of activities for children of all ages have been organised during the August school holidays, beginning next week. A list of holiday activities in and around Christchurch will appear in “The Press,” Monday to Friday, for both weeks of the holidays. No enrolments are necessary for these activities. Additional programmes requiring enrolment because numbers are limited have also been organised. These

include:— Bryndwr Y.M.C.A.: Two programmes for eight to 13 years. August 20 to 24 and August 27 to 31; activities include forest walks, movies, roller skating, games and a trip to the snow, cost $25. Christchurch City Council recreation centres: Proframmes at Cowles tadium, Pioneer Stadium, Queen Elizabeth II Park, Coronation Hall for five to 12 years; Activities include canoeing, computer course, creative dance. diving course, gymnastics, judo and self-defence, kite-mak-ing, pottery, rhythmical gym, swimming lessons and ski trips. Two big holiday specials are the ski trip on Wednesday, August 22, and the Wizards holiday special night on Thursday, August 30. from any of the centres. Mt Pleasant community centre: August 27 potterymaking for six to 12 years; August 28 modem dance for seven years and over.

13 to 18 years: A special programme for this age S organised by the church City Council Parks and Recreation Department. Two-day outdoor experience camp at Hamner Springs, rock climbing, kayaking, ski-ing, orienteering, scuba diving, karate,
