Interest in section

A prime residential section in Fendalton, with an asking price of $120,000, has attracted early buyer interest since it was put on the market yesterday morning. The section, between Hamilton Avenue and Clyde Road, is of 1267 sq m (51 perches) and is a cleared building site zoned Residential 1. It has shrubs and trees, portions of lawn, and has good access from the road. The real estate agent for the undeveloped property, Mrs Clarice Latimer, agreed that the price was high (the 1981 Government valuation was $15,000), but said that she had had several calls from interested persons since the advertisement appeared in “The Press” yesterday. Because of it size, the section could be subdivided, with three two-storey town houses allowed under the present Waimairi District Scheme, said Mrs Latimer.
