Racehorses die in fire NZPA-Reuter Dublin
Three racehorses valued together at more than $30,000 died in a fire at the stables of the top Irish trainer, Paddy Prendergast, early on Tuesday. The three, including the thoroughbred Lough Conn, were suffocated by fumes at Prendergast’s stables in Kildare, west of Dublin. Three horses were rescued unharmed. The police said the recent dry weather may have been responsible for the blaze but they have not ruled out arson.
