More pacers sold abroad

By

JEFF SCOTT

The C2 mare, Tigeress, and the impressive maiden graduate, Never In Doubt, have joined Sweet Alli as winners at last Friday’s New Brighton meeting to have been secured for their future racing in North America. Tigeress, a rising five-year-old half-sister by Tiger wave to earlier good winners in Almetos (Imin 57.45), Richina, Senator Lea and Jeremiah; and Never In Doubt, a Nardin’s Byrd mare from a half-sister to Scottish Heath (2min), will both race in California. Sweet Alli passed a veterinary examination on Monday and will be flown out of the country with Tigeress and Never In Doubt on August 4. Sweet Alli will race in the Chicago area.

The trio has been purchased by the Peter Larkin Standardbred Agency, of Ashburton. The agency has also secured Winalot, a rising four-year-oid gelding by Out to Win from a sister to the former champion racehorse and sire, Lordship, for racing in Brisbane. A former agency purchase, Alba Wings (Alba Counsel — Cherie Tuft)* which recently beat Area Code in the Queensland Derby, has been flown to North America, where he will now race at Meadow-' lands in the interests of his Australian owner; while another former purchase, Lord Dalrae, recently lowered his mile record with a win in Imin 54.2 s at Meadowlands.
