Dawn visit
Sir, — Female M.P.s have not, to my knowledge, been noted for timidity. In his condescending comment that a woman member of Parliament confronted by a “dawn raid” would have been “petrified,” Mr Philip Burdon sadly underestimates the resources of our few female politicians. Could it be that Mr Burdon . regards women in general as liking in competence
and resilience? Even the prospect of such out-dated beliefs being perpetuated in Parliament for another term does not quite render me immobile. — Yours, etc., L. M. CREED. July 11, 1984.
