Big ‘Press’ Cup scores
The standard of sportsmanship in senior rugby matches on Saturday was uncommonly high.
No fewer than 10 of the 16 teams received the full 12 points for conduct, and this has never been achieved before in the six years that "The Press” Cup best and fairest competition has been in existence. Marist was one of the teams with a 12 and it also received the possible eight points for how well it played. University, the side Marist beat, was rated al-
most as highly and its combined points were 19. With so many teams being* marked highly, the top order changed little. Lincoln College’s lead was cut from five to four points and the next five teams are separated by only three points. Saturday’s points:— Marist, sportsmanship 12, constructiveness 8, total 20; University, 12,7,19; Belfast, 12, 7, 19; Suburbs, 12, 7, 19; Merivale-Papanui, 12, 7, Ift Lincoln College, 12, 6, 18; Shirley, 12, 6, 18; Lyttelton,
