Probe into death in hospital
PA Auckland The police say they are investigating the death of a Coromandel woman who died on Thursday after nose surgery in Thames Hospital late last week. She was Brenda Lee, aged 22, of Coromandel. The body was taken to Auckland for a post-mortem investigation at the request of the Thames Coroner, Mr Keith Purnell. Police sources said that Miss Lee, who entered hospital for minor surgery to her nose late last week, collapsed on Monday during breakfast. The chief executive of Thames Hospital Board, Mr Rod Perkins, refused to discuss the matter.
