Software questionnaire
A long-overdue study of New Zealand’s software industry is being undertaken by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research in conjunction with the Trade and Industry Department. The DSIR will prepare a discussion paper which will present a profile of the industry and also summarise what is happening in the
industry world-wide
Mr Martin Kaiser, of the DSIR’s Physics and Engineering Laboratory, has sent a questionnaire on the software industry to more than 400 companies and organisations based in New Zealand which are writing or modifying software for sale.
It is a comprehensive questionnaire asking about New Zealand-developed
software, software modified in New Zealand, selling software, sales made, people employed by the organisation, and the respondent’s views of the industry.
Companies which do not receive a questionnaire by the end of the month are asked to contact Mr Kaiser in Wellington to receive a copy.
