Leaflets on tree diseases
PA Wellington Five leaflets which will help foresters and others identify the principal diseases of exotic and native trees in New Zealand have been printed by the Forest Research Institute.
The institute hopes forest managers will find them useful to identify ill-health in trees and decide on a course of remedial action. The first five leaflets deal with eucalyptus leaf spots, Swiss needle-cast of Douglas fir, peniophora root and stem canker, armillaria root rot, and dothistroma needle blight. Another 15 are planned.
