Trainers face charges
PA Wellington A sub-committee of the executive committee of the Racing Conference met on Wednesday and Thursday to hear 97 charges against 71 trainers in relation to the failure to forward stable returns of horses coming under their care.
Forty-four charges against 37 trainers were proven and explanations were accepted on behalf of 30 trainers involving 42 charges. Two charges were withdrawn and nine adjourned to August. Fines of $4O were fixed in each case where the charges were proven.
