Burkinshaw for Bahrain
NZPA-AFP London Keith Burkinshaw, the former Tottenham manager, has agreed to take control of Bahrain’s national soccer team.
He is to sign a two-year contract worth a reported £250,000 ($NZ532,500) tax free and his target will be qualification for the 1986
World Cup. Burkinshaw who managed Tottenham for eight years, left on a high note after leading them to success in the UEFA Cup last month. He was contacted by several first division clubs but opted for the challenge — and financial security — offered by the oil-rich Golf state.
