NZPA-AAP Sydney The New South Wales public hospital system was coping well despite the strike by doctors, the state Health Minister and Deputy Premier, Mr Ron Mulock, said yesterday. He said that 853 notices of
resignation had been received from private doctors working in public hospitals by late yesterday afternoon.
Neither the Government nor the doctors moved any closer towards a compromise yesterday.
