Librici given 53kg in Fourex Cup
PA Wellington Librici, the glamour horse of the Brisbane winter carnival, has been alotted 53kg for the rich Fourex Cup (2200 m in Brisbane on July 14.
The winner of his only two starts in Brisbane, including the Queensland Derby in record time, the Imperial Seal gelding has been scaled alongside former good South Islander, Row of Waves, and the Southland galloper, The Dimple. The weights are headed by the champion mare, Emancipation with 58kg, 2.5 kg more than the Queen
Elizabeth II Stakes winner, Chiamare. The highest weighted New Zealand horse among the 115 acceptors is the three-time Prime Ministers’ Cup winner, Avitt, on 54.5 kg. Emancipation also heads the weights for the Rothmans 100,000 (1350 m a week earlier. She has been given the steadier of 59kg, 4.5 kg more than the smart New Zealand miler, Idaho’s Gift. Final Affair has been given 53.5 kg, 11kg more than Mr Illusion and 2kg more than Noble Note. Other acceptors include Swift Zephyr (49kg) and High Regards (47kg).
