FRIDAY Franklin WASKESIU (Race 6) Br f, 3 yrs, by Riverton-Gilded, trained at Manurewa by M. T. Sullivan. Impressive maiden winner at Pukekohe late last month and solid effort for second in lone race meantime. In capacity field today but favourably drawn and should take beating with reasonable run. Drawn awkwardly, but has the ability, to overcome this.

Bay of Plenty CUMBERLAND (Race 9) Br g, 3 yrs, by Riverton-Sweet Leilani, trained at Awapuni by A. S. and Miss V. S. Kaye. In solid form and worked well during the week. Looks the one to beat Hawke’s Bay CROWN STAR (Race 4) Br g, 5 yrs, Crown Lease-Quasar, trained at Cambridge by K. and Mrs A. Browne. Won maiden hurdles at Pukekohe late last month and scored again impressively at Awapuni last Saturday. Marlborough GIVANNA (Race 2) Bf, 3 yrs, by Armbro Del-Lyn Abbe, trained at Prebbleton by C. A.
