Vows renewed 50 years on
The wedding memories of 50 years ago were enjoyed anew yesterday by Mr Robert Curtis, aged 77, and his wife, Mrs Marjorie Curtis, aged 78, who renewed their vows at St Luke’s Anglican Church in Christchurch. Mr and Mrs Curtis were married at St Luke’s Church in 1934 by Archdeacon F. N. Taylor. Mr Curtis was a cabinetmaker by trade and is a founder and a life member of the Canterbury Basketball Association. Mrs Curtis is one of the 14 surviving members of the original Canterbury peace scouts, which later became known as Girl Guides. She worked at the Land and Deeds Office for about 10 years, before and during her marriage. The couple have one sou and three daughters.
