Island Holiday Crossword Competition. The draw was made from the correct entries received from the 7000 entered in the competition. The event was organised by the council as part of its promotion of Canterbury at the Daily Telegraph Holiday and Travel Show held in Sydney. Mrs Mellady won a
return ticket for two, flying from Sydney to Christchurch with Air New Zealand, a nine-day coach holiday tour of the South Island with the Mount Cook Line, three nights accommodation at Autolodge, Christchurch, and a package of sightseeing attractions throughout Canterbury.
