Soviet chess players will play the Rest of the World in London, starting on Saturday, for what the organisers yesterday described as the strongest chess event in history. Each team in the fourround match, with a total of
40 games, will field 10 players, with the world champion, Anatoly Karpov, on the Soviet side,.as well as Gary Kasparov and Vassily Smyslov. The Rest of the World will include the Soviet defector, Viktor Korchnoi, now playing for Switzerland, and Zoltan Ribli, of Hungary.
