lyA variety of products will be exhibited by six Nelson exporters at an international catering trade fair in Sydney from next Sunday to the following Thursday.
Nineteen New Zealand business houses are exhibiting at the fair. The biggest contingent (six) is from Nelson, Auckland with four, is the next largest. Fruit juices, ales, canned fruit packs, wines and speciality vinegars (including a world first, kiwifruit vinegar), smoked and marinated seafood products, and kiwi Clams will feature in the Nelson exhibit. The six exhibitors will occupy four stands at the
fair. Angus McNeill, Ltd (Seafood products), Tasman Bay Fruit Juices and Roc Mac Ltd (New Zealand’s only independent brewery) will each occupy a stand. The other will be shared by TNL export and one of its agencies, and Kiwi Clams and Berkett Marketing (wines and speciality vinegars). Mr Dexter Taylor, TNL Export’s manager, will lead the the contingent. The assault on the international catering agencies which will attend the fair, has been planned in collaboration with the Nelson branch of the New Zealand Export Industry, and some “backroom boys” over a period of many months. It is no light finaheial undertaking. It will cost those participating about $20,000. However, because of the prestige the fair holds in world catering circles — about 140,000 visitors attended the last one — all the exhibitors think it most worth while.
