Record sales of property
More properties were sold last month by the Christchurch Multiple Listing Bureau than in any other month for 27 years. The number of properties listed in May was also the highest in 27 years. About 300 of the 611 properties listed were sold last month, fetching an average price of $58,028. For April and May, 519 properties, with values totalling $30.4 million were sold. In the same period last year, there were 429 sales with a total value of $23.3 million.
