PA Wellington Tim Finn, co-lead singer and founder of Split Enz, has decided to leave the successful New Zealand rock band to pursue a solo career, it was announced last evening. Polygram Record’s New Zealand general manager, Mr Nigel Sandiford, said that Mr Finn’s decision had been made after “mutual and amicable” discussions with the band. He said the other members of Split Enz, including Mr Finn’s brother, Neil, would continue as a group and would return to recording studios soon to start work on a new album.
