Membership ‘doubles’
PA ' Wellington New Zealand Party membership had doubled in the last month, said the party’s leader, Mr Bob Jones. The computer list of party members who received the party’s
newsletter had grown from 8000 to 16,000. This list was not complete because it did not include the names of those who had paid only the party’s $lO joining fee. The computer list was of those who had paid an extra $lO to be on the newsletter
mailing list. Mr Jones said yesterday that many more were now joining the party since the snap election was called. The Auckland divisional chairman had reported a lot more, with the announcement that Mr Derek Quigley was standing down.
