Mair controls Colyer

Mair and Company, Ltd, has purchased — subject to the consent of the Commerce Commission — 50.4 per cent of the shareholding in Colyer Watson Holdings, Ltd. The purchase is from the holdings of Strong and Fisher (Holdings) PLC, Rocke and Sons (New Zealand), Ltd, and S. W. Bullen. The consideration, amounting to 400 c a share, will be paid in shares and cash. The directors of E. Astley and Sons, Ltd, Auckland tanner, the other major shareholder in Colyer Watson Holdings, have been informed and support the move, the Mair directors say.
