A.B.C. appointment
PA Wellington A former Radio New Zealand engineer, Mr Gerry Moriarty, has been appointed director of engineering and property for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. The position is one of seven directors advertised internationally as part of a major restructuring of the A.B.C.
Mr Moriarty’s appointment coincided with the final planning stages for the introduction of satellite broadcasting in Australia in 1985, said Radio New Zealand.
Mr Moriarty holds a New Zealand Certificate in Engineering and a Bachelor of Engineering (telecommunications) first-class honours degree from the University of Canterbury.
