Prison officer awards
The superintendent of Paparua Prison. Mr Humphrey Stroud, and his deputy. Mr Mitchell Leimon. will be among 44 Christchurch prison officers to be presented with long service medals on Friday.
Twenty-eight officers will receive medals marking 14 years service. 11 for 21 years service, and five for 28 years service. The Secretary for Justice, Mr S. J. Callahan, will present the medals at a function at Paparua Prison. Officers to receive medals for 21 years service
are: Messrs Raymond Baker. Gerrit de Wagt. Frederick Frost. Trevor O'Brien, Humphrey Stroud. Alan Thomson. Marius van Hulten. Patrick Kinney, of Paparua Prison: Kenneth Langley. Keith Chambers, of Rolleston Prison; and Ms Margaret van de Water, of Christchurch Women’s Prison. Officers to receive medals for 28 years service are: Messrs John Carr. Thomas Horgan, Albert Wills. Mitchell Leimon. of Paparua Prison; and Bernard Alfeld, of Rolleston Prison.
