Contadora mission

NZPA-Reuter San Salvador The Foreign Ministers of the four-nation Contadora group have wound up a Central American tour aimed at reaching a peaceful solution to the crisis in the region. The Ministers from Mexico, Colombia, Panama and Venezuela gave the Salvadorean President, Jose Napoleon Duarte, a document containing recommendations for putting into effect a 21-point Contadora peace plan approved earlier

this year. El Salvador was the final leg of the two-day tour that took them to Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras and Guatemala, where government officials received copies of the same document. The Venezuelan Foreign Minister, Isidro Morales Paul, said the document recommends agreement on arms reduction, removal of foreign forces from the region, human rights and pluralistic democracy.
