No Palmer in U.S. Open

NZPA-Reuter Ohio For the first time since 1952, Arnold Palmer has

failed to qualify for the United States Open golf championship, which will be held at the Winged Foot club in New York from Thursday. The 54-year-old Palmer shot a two-over par 146 (72, 74) over 36 holes in an Open sectional qualifying event to miss the cut-off by two strokes.
