Guitarist seeks talks with Sir Robert
PA Auckland The gutarist, Gray Bartlett, has asked for a meeting with the Prime Minister, Sir Robert Muldoon, to discuss the "That’s Country” affair. Mr Bartlett and the. singer, Brendan Dugan, were angry that they had not been invited to appear on the ninth series of the TVNZ country music show. The pair were sacked from “That’s Country” after complaining that the show’s producer, Trevor Spitz, faced a conflict of interest
as the manager of the country singer, Suzanne Prentice. Their complaints led to a Commission of Inquiry into the show. Mr Barlett said from Tokoroa at the week-end that he was expecting confirmation of a meeting with Sir Robert within a few day, but he refused to comment further. Mr Bartlett is touring New Zealand with the American country singer, Freddy Fender.
